Incredible $30 Map-Making Software Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

Following a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time available through early December. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" developed by a specialized software company throughout their history, the entire collection is valued at over $1,300. And there are multiple package options offered in this deal.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is certainly a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to generate various types including fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and most notably, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

Basic Package

The most affordable option, starting at just one dollar, features merely four from the thirty-nine available products: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Monster Token Pack 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This one's only for existing CC3+ users, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight fully mapped cities, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 is where things get more interesting by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. Cartographer's Annual is the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's ongoing subscription program featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from all sides. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Every volume from the Annual series are included here, plus numerous other resource and asset packs that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, underground complexes, urban centers, and continents from almost any perspective. Users can also create character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously more advantageous for cartography beginners since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here though the purchase is available across platforms, the applications only function with Windows systems.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally through education, health care, and emergency relief.
