From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might look mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Schemers parties.
Fans can expect learning which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
