Australia Breaks New Ground as Healy Faces One Final Mountain.

It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it was a challenging time because it seemed I lacked timing at all," said Healy.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was dismissed her side required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.
